Each entrant taking part in the Festival confers on the DokMa festival the right to present the work on any media or public screening for non-commercial purposes and promotion of the Festival.
The entrant bears the responsibility that all rights necessary for the public screening of the film have been adequately cleared.
Participation in the DokMa festival implies recognition and acceptance of the present Regulations.
The Festival has the right to settle all cases unforeseen in the Regulations as well as to permit exceptions from the Regulations in special, well-founded cases. |

During the festival no selected film may be screened outside the Festival venues. Films in any of the programme categories may be screened no more than three (3) times during the Festival. Additional screenings require special permission from the producer, distributor or the author of the film. |

The selection will be made by the Festival Selection Committees and will be announced on the festival web page after October 15th, 2008. The decisions of the Selection Committees are final.
Productions in any way connected to any member of the Selection Committee cannot be accepted for the competitive programme. |

Eligible for participation in the Interregional Programme are European the first two feature documentary films in a filmmaker's filmography or short films by a documentary filmmaker under 35 years of age, produced in European countries in the past two (2) years that have not been screened at previous editions of the Documentaries in Maribor |

Documentaries in Maribor - DokMa 2008 is a documentary film festival held between 2nd and 8th November 2008 in Maribor, Slovenia. There are five (5) categories in the Festival programme: Main Programme, Interregional Programme, Slovenian Special, Great Documentaries and Parallels. The Interregional Programme and the Slovenian Special each contain two competitive sections. The Water lily will be awarded for the Best Slovenian Short Documentary (under 45 minutes running time) and the Golden Waterlily for the Best Slovenian Full Length Documentary (over 45 minutes running time). The Triangle Shell award goes to the Best Short Documentary in the Interregional Programme (under 45 minutes running time) and the Giant Triangle Shell award to the Best Full Length Documentary (over 45 minutes running time). The Festival accepts submissions for the following categories: Interregional Programme, Slovenian Special and Parallels. The invited films in all categories will be screened from 35mm, 16mm film prints, Beta SP PAL video cassettes or DVDs. In addition to film screenings, the Festival offers a deeper insight into documentary film through a workshop on documentary film theory, masterclass lectures by invited film makers, professionals and other guests as well as organizing other events for the professional or general audiences. |
